Febrile Neutropenia


Description
Febrile neutropenia and sepsis are the most common oncologic emergency. Infections are the primary cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with cancer. About 50% of patients with febrile neutropenia have a hematologic malignancy. Out of all patients who die from febrile neutropenia, 70% have a hematologic malignancy.
